and Ms. Poonam Tewari, Coach of Indian contingent in Deaf & Dumb Badminton Olympics, held recently at Brazil for winning  Gold in team championship.
In a simple ceremony held at Northern Railway Headquarters office , Baroda House New Delhi today, General Manager, Northern Railway, Shri Ashutosh Gangal felicitated Shri Vijaydeep Singh, the coach of the Indian team that won Gold in Thomas Cup, 2022 held recently in Thailand.  Shri Vijaydeep Singh, who is working as Chief Ticket Inspector in Ambala division of Northern Railway was congratulated by the General Manager for his incredible achievement. Shri Vijaydeep Singh has himself been Three times doubles national champion, SAF GAMES GOLD Medalist twice, represented India 5 times in THOMAS CUP, represented India 3 times in World Championship and represented India in French Open Championship and secured bronze medal in doubles. After quitting active playing, Shri Vijaydeep for the last 14 years is coach with the senior Indian Badminton team and has won gold medal in Thomas Cup, 2022 at Bangkok, Thailand.
General Manager, Northern Railway also felicitated Ms. Poonam Tewari, coach of Indian contingent in Deaf & Dumb Badminton Olympics, held in Brazil recently. The Indian contingent for the first time won Gold in the team championship. After this, India also won Gold medals in Women's singles and Mixed doubles. Ms. Poonam Tewari is currently working as Chief OS in Northern Railway Headquarters Office, New Delhi. She has been an outstanding player herself with All India best ranking of 7th position. She has won silver medal in Women's Singles All India Championship, has been part of the Northern Railway team which has consistently been winner in All India Railway Championship for many years. After doing her NIS diploma from Bangalore in the year 2011, Ms. Tewari was the coach for the Indian Railways team that won the World Railway Games Gold Medal in 2013 at Russia & in 2017 at Switzerland. She has been a coach for the Junior India panel for the last 10 years. She also led Indian Railways to win the Silver medal as Coach of the Indian Railways team in National Championship-2019.

Shri Gangal congratulated both the coaches for their splendid performance and wished them all the best for their future endeavors. Shri A. K. Khandelwal, CAO/USBRL & President/NRSA and Shri Kaustubh Mani, Secy. Northern Railway Sports Association were also present on the occasion.
